How age is calculated
Your age is the exact difference between your date of birth and the chosen date, expressed in complete years, months and days. The calculator borrows days from the previous calendar month when needed, so a birth on the 31st is handled correctly across months of different lengths. It also totals your life in months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds, and counts down to your next birthday.
Why the "age as of" field matters
By default the tool calculates age as of today, but you can set any target date — useful for checking eligibility for a job, exam, driving licence, passport, or pension on a specific date. Set the target date to a past or future day and the age updates instantly.
